VC prove that even if you're a baldhead you can make good conscious tunes, or act right in your everyday life. I really like this single, the riddim isn't that good but it's all about what he says and how he says it.
"Sitting in your church on Sunday Thinking who you gonna screw Monday Who you gonna thief, who you gonna rob Take it that me tell you Say, you can't fool God, no.."
Addis Records is a label from Switzerland, this is a (Nu) Roots riddim with a big heavy bassline that will make your head nod ! The riddim is produced by Addis crew (Jil & Stuff) and features legendary Jamaican saxophone player Dean Fraser...

I don't listen to Rock at all, nor white music, but when it's mixed with Hip Hop it's all good for me. They're not the first who do that (of course Run DMC, Public Enemy & Anthrax, Boo Yaa Tribe's "Bang Your Head" to name a few) but their flow fits well into this type of production...

This is the first full lenght LP released by Swedish label Street Level after few 12 Inches releases that had good critics in the press and the public, the best ones are compiled here with new tracks. Including 1999's Promoe's (from Looptroop Crew) classic Off The Record plus a remixed version. Other titles features Group Home, 8-Off, Agallah, as well as a french group called Interactif Crew (which I've never heard about before that...), and of course there's swedish MC's also (only one track is not in english). Usually I don't listen Rap from other countries than US or France but this one is pretty good compilation...
There's two swedish track that uses the sameMichel Gonet'sFlower Dancesample from his 1976 albumPhasing News Vol 2. First one is from 1998, it'sThomas Rusiak feat. PeeWee - Suckers; the other one isOff The Recordand was released in 1999.

Ali Vegas writes this diss record against Dj Clue and Fabulous when he was 16/17 years old. DJ Clue requested apologies on NY Radio, so Ali put that records out, straight in their heads !

One Be Lo other known as OneManArmy is one half of Binary Star duo (other half is Senim Silla) from Michigan. He went solo after they split up after several releases that were critically acclaimed (like Masters of the Universe or Waterworld). This dope album is from 2005 with the Trackezoïds on the production (here we have : Decompoze, One Be Lo, Magestik Legend and Chic Masters) and DJ Virus and DJ Phrikshun on the cuts... Favorite tracks are : The UNDERground, enecS eht no kcaB (with the Redman scratch from EPMD's Headbangers) or Oggie. But theu're all good as the album is really homogeneous.
A2-The UNDERground

I uploaded two version, because there's no gaps between most of the tracks on the vinyl, so there's one splitted (get it by clicking the post title) and a non splitted one : here
This one is a 7" remix of the great Born Jamericans' Yardcore cut from Bunafire Sound, produced by Mamba, on the Bam Bam riddim. It's a German crew that's all what I know about them...
Tracklist :
A - Born Jamericans - Yardcore(Pushing MamBam Remix) B - Born Jamericans - Yardcore (Straight MamBam Remix)
Another Hip Hop / Dancehall collabo. This one is from Beenie Man's Maestro 1997 LP. Little mess with the labels, it's supposed to be the same tracks on each side (In The Ghetto Radio, Dirty and Instru), instead of that they put on B side, which is a good idea, Beenie Man's Romie tune... Big hit on a recut of the legendary Punaany (originally by King Jammy & Steelie & Cleevie) done by Shocking Vibes's crew... In The Ghetto is produced by Da Bush Babees' Mr Man, they always had jamaican influences in their productions or on the Mic...
Check it : A2 - Beenie Man feat Da Bush Babees - In The Ghetto (Album Version)
B - Beenie Man - Romie

Got some Reggae / Dancehall ready to post... But first, as I like collabos between the two style here's is a compilation from 1992 on a riddim named Hip Hop Rhythm (with a booming bassline !) produced by Larry Boswell (?). It's Raggamuffin time, early 90's guns, slack and a little bit of conscious lyrics with the usuall suspect of that time, like Mad Cobra ("Shoot first, then ask question"), Cutty Ranks (conscious style !) or Papa San. Something that's not usual is B4 (Charlie Sprang) where he spit both in Deejay and in Rap style !
Check it : A1 Cobra - Quick Fishshoot
B4 Charlie Sprang - Girls
Tracklist :
A1 Cobra - Quick Fishshoot A2 Cutty Ranks - Cool Down A3 Dirtsman - Crack Head A4 General TK - Signal A5 Papa San - Women A The Best B1 Gospel Fish - Talent B2 Nardo Ranks - Samething B3 Tenacat - Lean On The Girls Them B4 Charlie Sprang - Girls B5 Larry Boswell - Version

Usually I don't post full LP rips here (at least only compilations), I post this one and maybe it will be the first and last one... Don't sleep on this !
The group comes from Long Island, NY. Composed by Dino Brave, Laku, Mic Raw and Rock Marcy ( aka Roc Marciano ) who was former Flipmode Squad member.
Looks like they're close with Pete Rock and the less that we can say it's that he gave them ill beats, no doubt that it was one of the best that came out in 2004 ! It contain tracks that were already released by Archives Inc Records (check the other posts for almost all their releases) but reworked properly. Straight raw east coast shit !
