Another Hip Hop / Dancehall collabo. This one is from Beenie Man's Maestro 1997 LP. Little mess with the labels, it's supposed to be the same tracks on each side (In The Ghetto Radio, Dirty and Instru), instead of that they put on B side, which is a good idea, Beenie Man's Romie tune... Big hit on a recut of the legendary Punaany (originally by King Jammy & Steelie & Cleevie) done by Shocking Vibes's crew... In The Ghetto is produced by Da Bush Babees' Mr Man, they always had jamaican influences in their productions or on the Mic...

The riddim is based on Hot Milk's bassline, a famous instrumental cut by legendary Studio One keybordist Jackie Mitoo (1948-1990), a former Skatalites, Soul Brothers and Soul Vendors member just to name a few bands he was part of. Lots of riddims he created became all time classics in Reggae Music : Shank I Sheck, Drum Song, Ba Ba Boum, Death In The Arena, Bobby Babylon, etc...
This is a rip from the 2003 (or 2004 ?) 7" vinyl reissue on the US label Jah Life (or Jah Life.com as on the labels) which is, with Wackie's, one of the best american Reggae labels ever. I added the Jackie Mitoo track and another one from Rakim & Barrington Levy (not the best remix of Murderer I've heard...).
- Barrington Levy & Beenie Man - Murderation
- Barrington Ley - Murderer
- Lone Ranger - If Life Was A Thing
- Louie Ranking - God A Watch Dem
- Sanchez - The World's Greatest
- Jackie Mitoo - Hot Milk (from Studio One Rocker Complilation) *
